The CalHSTA Board

The board of the California High School Transit Alliance is responsible for setting the direction and mission of the organization, admitting clubs, and authorizing campaigns, actions, and releases.

The CalHSTA board will next meet on the evening of February 28th. Meetings are conducted virtually and are not open to the public. However, you are welcome to leave a virtual public comment by 5 pm (opens in a new tab). 2025-2026 Board

David RabinovichDavid Rabinovich
President

David Rabinovich is a youth transit advocate, currently a sophomore at San Mateo High School where he is the transit club president and founder. Before becoming president of CalHSTA, he was a co-founder and served as vice-president. He is a member of the SamTrans CAC, representing youth riders, and was part of the campaign to fix the San Mateo Station northbound elevator, improving accessibility for all transit riders. He enjoys transit speedrunning, and holds the SamTrans express bus record, 2nd place for a Muni Metro speedrun, and the pending GWR for BART!

Ben MangiaficoBen Mangiafico
Vice President

Ben Mangiafico is an avid public transit rider, cyclist, and alternative transportation advocate. He is the founder and president of the Carlmont High School transportation club in Belmont and a member of the SamTrans Citizens Advisory Committee. On the side, he enjoys playing jazz trumpet, technical theater, and going on long walks.

Enzo WuEnzo Wu
Secretary

Enzo Wu is a rising junior for the 25-26 school year. He founded the Public Transit and Infrastructure club at Dougherty Valley High School and has been a public transit enthusiast and advocate for 3 years. He advocates by doing and documenting his transit speedruns on YouTube, having set multiple world records and helped post videos garnering thousands of views.

Harvy ChangHarvy Chang
Board Member At-Large

Harvy Chang is a transit advocate and senior at Lynbrook High School, where he is the founder and president of the transit club. He often takes and promotes transit to his friends and family, introducing transit to over 50 students at school and also helps his dad learn to commute to work for free by bus. Harvy enjoys transit speedrunning - visiting all the stations in a transit system as fast as possible - attempting runs of BART, Muni Metro, WMATA, and LA Metro, among others. He has the pending Guiness World Record for speedrunning BART! He also enjoys playing the trombone with the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Mason LouieMason Louie
Board Member At-Large

Mason is president of the Schurr Transit Club at Schurr High School and a member of the 4th Metro Youth Council. Under his tenure, Schurr Transit Club has launched the "GoPass With Class" public information campaign and a wayfinding and signage pilot program, and has co-hosted numerous community trips and walk audits. Mason loves riding Montebello Bus Lines and is also a big fan of journalism and stuffed animals.

Samuel SharpSamuel Sharp
Staff Advisor

Samuel is a lifelong transit rider and a student at UC San Diego. While in high school, he served as the first president of CalHSTA, and was responsible for coordinating and promoting the Let's Go with PRONTO campaign that distributed transit fare cards to thousands of students. Samuel is also a co-founder of BuildSD, working to document and advocate for sustainable development across the San Diego region, and an officer for Public Transit Enthusiasts @ UC San Diego.
